Friday, October 10 - 9:00AM to 11:00AM
Jenskins Fine Art Lighting Studio
This workshop will present various ways a light source can be modified to create a wide range of possible options for controlling the qualities of light.
The first half of the workshop will revolve around demonstrating the myriad ways a light can be modulated to alter the rendering of a subject and its relationship to the background. The second half will be devoted to workshop participants experimenting with some of the techniques presented. Working in small groups of three or four offers the opportunity to share ideas and intuitions, as well as collaboratively assist each other during the shooting process. It will be an opportunity to explore a range of techniques that will change the way you think about how light works.
Participants should bring their camera, speedlight (optional) and a flashlight that will allow for an adjustable spread of light a light you can focus (you might also make use of the light from your cell phone/flashlight app). Also, bring something you want to photograph. Everything else will be provided including strobes, hot-lights, shooting surfaces, seamless backgrounds, etcand you don't have to bring a tripod just for the workshop.
