Megan DeSoto is known for her colorful, large-scale images of broken illuminated ceramics and other knickknacks. She describes her photographs as object portraiture. DeSoto investigates social media, culture, and family tradition to better understand, embrace and defy the dynamics that play into the pressures of today's woman. Her imagery is influenced by fashion and commercial work. Megan DeSoto serves as an adjunct professor in the College of Visual Arts and Design where she teaches in the Photography Department and through the Mayborn School of Journalism at the University of North Texas. She is the staff photographer for the Texas Fashion Collection and owns a digitization business serving artists and galleries throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Megan earned a MFA from the University of North Texas 2019 and a BFA from the University of Texas at Arlington, 2015. DeSoto lives and works in Fort Worth, Texas
