Reaching Out: Partnerships, Pedagogy and Photography at CUNY
Robin Michals is a photographer whose work explores environmental issues through a close look at the built environment. Her ongoing project, Castles Made of Sand, of coastal areas impacted by sea level rise has been shown in numerous venues in the New York City metropolitan area including the Alice Austen House, St. Peter's Church, the Hudson Valley Center for Contemporary Art, and the Davis Orton Gallery. In 2015, she was a visiting artist at the Brooklyn Navy Yard. Her series Toxic City: Brooklyn's Brownfields was exhibited at the Brooklyn Lyceum in 2009 with support from the Brooklyn Arts Council and the Puffin Foundation. She teaches photography at New York City College of Technology, City University of New York.
