Invited Imagemaker Presentation "One Man Show"

For over twenty years, Bill Adams has built elaborate sets and staged complex, humorous scenes in which he plays all of the characters. This repetition is achieved using both live figures and photographic cutouts mounted on cardboard. While the images are not digital, many contain simulated computer manipulation, such as pixelation and green screens, which are actually painted floors, walls, photographs, and suspended objects. Many of the scenes depict contemporary and historical film sets, premieres, and other public spectacles. The shifting identifications and points of view revolve around issues of voyeurism, perspective, and power.
