Karen Hymer is a visual artist/educator from Tucson, Arizona. She holds a BFA from The School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston and an MA and MFA from University of New Mexico, Albuquerque. Hymer taught photography for 26 years at Pima Community College in Tucson, and recently retired and moved to Silver City, New Mexico where she opened Light Art Space. The space feature two galleries, digital and wet darkrooms and a studio/teaching space. In May 2018, Dark Spring Press released the first book of her work, Age & Seduction, to accompany a traveling exhibition of her photopolymer gravures.
