When I was young my grandfather passed away in a car accident. This early life event led to
an increased awareness of roadway deaths, and ultimately the beginning of this
photographic series. Jacob Moffett's photographic work is a meditation on the concept of loss and memory in the southern United States. Moffett captures images that reaffirm the temporary nature of life and the echoes that are left behind. He received his BFA in Photography from Stephen F. Austin State University in 2018 and is currently pursuing his MFA at Louisiana Tech University.
