An Unfixed Pilgrimage: Vulnerability, Kinship & Healing through Collaboration
J Carrier holds a BS in Wildlife & Fisheries Science and Forestry from Pennsylvania State University and an MFA from Hartford Art School. He is an Associate Professor at George Mason University. His artistic practice centers on the photobook, and he has published seven titles. His most recent, Mi'raj (TIS, 2024), is the second volume in his Palestine/Israel trilogy. The first, Elementary Calculus (Mack, 2012), appeared on numerous "best of the year" lists and was included in the 2013 International Center of Photography Triennial. He is currently at work on the trilogy's final volume, Adraba: Incircles.
Dialogue and critique are important to the SPE mission.
