Baran Ataei (b. 1997) is an Iranian interdisciplinary artist who works with various mediums including photography, glass, printmaking and installation. Her work navigates themes of trauma, memory, and resistance against oppressive power structures.
She is currently pursuing an MFA in Studio Arts at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where her academic and artistic research has been recognized through solo and group exhibitions as well as awards, including the Graduate Fellowship for Women in the Arts.
Dialogue and critique are important to the SPE mission.
