Mary-Linn Hughes is a multidisciplinary teaching artist whose work centers storytelling, community engagement, and creative empowerment through photography and visual arts. Committed to equity in the arts, she has spent the past two years leading workshops for LGBTQ seniors at the Los Angeles LGBT Center, creating space for participants to explore identity, memory, and resilience through accessible creative tools.

As lead educator for Framing Our Truths, Mary-Linn guided participants in using cellphone cameras to develop personal photo essays, helping them build both technical skills and confidence as visual storytellers. Her collaborative, process-based approach emphasizes voice, visibility, and connection--especially for those whose stories are often overlooked.
