Erin Jennings is a Memphis based photographer, filmmaker and educator working in lens-based mediums. Erin holds a Bachelor of Arts in Film Production, a Master of Arts in Political Science (Politics in Film), and a Master of Fine Arts in Photography. Erin's photographic work emphasizes and examines representation and the politics of viewing. Erin's work is exhibited internationally, with a recent feature in The Opera Magazine for Classic and Contemporary Nude Photography. Erin's scholarly research explores contemporary photographic practice, the state of higher education and resulting labor policies. Erin has been in a complicated relationship with academia since 2011 and is the co-chair of SPE's Contingent Faculty Caucus.
Dialogue and critique are important to the SPE mission.
