Nicole Jean Hill
Friday, March 17 - 4:00PM to 4:45PM
Tower D
As co-curator and ambassador for the 24,000 image archive of late Wyoming photographer Lora Webb Nichols, Hill will present the strategies she used for making the historically significant collection widely available for public use. Given the period of time the collection spans, the isolation of the Encampment community, and Lora Webb Nichols' gender, this collection of images is unparalleled in its historical significance and visual storytelling. In addition to providing an overview of the contents of the photographs by this frontierswoman, entrepreneur, and diarist, Hill will discuss the ways the archive intersects with multiple organizations and undergraduate research.
Dialogue and critique are important to the SPE mission.
