IMAGEMAKER DIALOGUE: Maggie Flanigan & Elizabeth McGrady

Maggie Flanigan, oversees internal administration at Page Bond Gallery in Richmond, VA and assists with curatorial duties, exhibition programming and communications. Flanigan holds a BFA in Studio Art from Appalachian State University and an MFA in Photography from Tyler School of Art, Temple University.

Being deeply entrenched in education is of utmost importance, staying engaged in the art community both through gallery work as well as teaching brings balance into her life. Flanigan is currently teaching as an Adjunct Instructor at VCU, and also runs workshops throughout the Richmond community. While her personal art practice centers around ideas of intimacy and immediacy through the use of alternative photographic methods and printmaking techniques, Flanigan is deeply saturated in the art community and finds inspiration in all forms of contemporary art practices from objects to performance and mixed media digital arts.
