"While you weren't watching, Richmond got cool" – according to Frommer's Travel Guides, naming Richmond a top worldwide destination. This city keeps getting noticed for its eclectic fusion of art, music, cuisine, river culture and new Southernism. It's a city of inspired contrasts – cobblestones and tattoos, history and modernism, urban and rugged outdoors. Richmond – also known as RVA – is home to the James River Park System, one of the largest inner city park systems in the country, as well as the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, the Institute for Contemporary Art as well as galleries, design firms, media companies, arts activism and DIY pop-up spaces. A highly walk-able, bike-able and live-able city with a great climate, come find out why the U.S. Bureau of Economic Research calls us "The Happiest City in America."
