"From GO NO GO to La Grieta: European Photobooks on Borders, Immigration and Refugees"

This lecture narrates the story of immigration and refugees through selected photobooks by European artists, from the last 15 years. Examples such as Go No Go by Dutch photographer Ad van Denderen, Handmade Disaster (2015) by Indian photographer and film-maker Anubhav Syal, and La Grieta, by Guillermo Abril and Carlos Spottorno (2016), will help to analyse how the narrative structure of the book is uniquiely situated to communicate stories of immigrants, refugees and borders.
