Peter Glendinning and Mark Sullivan of Michigan State University will share lessons learned from the experience of developing and teaching "Beyond Basic Photography," a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) on the Coursera platform. Their overview of the experience of developing the project will run from its initial conception through the reality of teaching massive numbers of learners in a global context. Covering the practicalities as well as the joys, frustrations, successes, and unanticipated disasters, they will share tips that anyone contemplating online teaching either locally or globally might want to consider before committing to such endeavors.
