Photography & Digital Studios Coordinator
We seek a qualified individual to join the technical staff team in the School of the Arts, to oversee the equipment and facilities used by our faculty and students in photography, digital arts, and video production. This individual will be organized, responsive, and proactive in problem solving. They will have expertise in digital and analog photography and film/video, including darkroom and digital lab management; and experience working with other equipment used in digital art making. They will have proficiency in communicating and organizing via Microsoft platforms (at a university level), Adobe Creative Suite (for digital editing workflows, systems troubleshooting, production uses), and Autodesk (for 3D modeling and animation), and AirTame (or equivalent screen-sharing platforms).
The position is responsible for:
Collaborating with faculty to support their teaching and research and those of their students
Monitoring and maintaining the equipment held in our equipment lending facility (digital vido/sound/lighting equipment and digital still camera and analog film camera equipment)
Monitoring and maintaining digital printing equipment such as but not limited to 22"-44" large format printers
Monitoring audio/visual equipment in digital art classrooms
Monitoring and maintaining the darkroom photography facility
Monitoring and updating the projectors/monitors in the public spaces in two buildings (Cohen Hall and Williams Hall)
Providing classroom support for faculty in Studio Art and Film and Television Studies
Working with faculty to identify needs, troubleshoot issues, and initiate purchases and repairs as needed in photography, digital arts, film, and printmaking (including risograph)
Working with the Educational Technologies Support team to identify and implement needed upgrades, software and hardware issues, network computing, etc.
Identifying and communicating with vendors for hardware, software, and possible material needs
Requirements: Undergraduate degree or evidence of equivalent experience, minimum 2 years employment in photography/digital arts/film/video in a university/academic setting.
