The Wonsook Kim School of Art at Illinois State University invites applications for a 9-month, full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor of Digital Photography to begin August 17, 2020. The successful candidate will teach three courses per semester at all levels of the photography curriculum and will be expected to maintain an ongoing and active engagement in professional research activities. Additional responsibilities include working with graduate students in the MFA Studio program and contributing to the shared governance of the School, College, and University. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. We are seeking candidates with a demonstrated record of a creative body of work and exhibitions, a broad understanding of the historical and contemporary field of photography, and an ability to teach the theoretical and critical aspects of art making, both within photography and advanced seminar courses. An MFA or equivalent terminal degree must be completed by the beginning of the appointment and teaching experience at the college or university level beyond a teaching assistantship is required.
