The School of Art and Visual Studies (SAVS) at the University of Kentucky seeks applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor in Photography to begin August 2019. The successful candidate will have the ability to teach studio lighting and a Lens Arts course in Studio Foundations, which requires a strong familiarity with both still and video imaging. The successful candidate will teach two (2) courses per semester, maintain an active research agenda, and preform service from the department to the university level.
Qualified applicants should have completed an MFA by August 2019. Preference may be given to applicants with teaching experience beyond the graduate level. Applicants should have a demonstrable knowledge of still photography, the Adobe Creative Suite (specifically Photoshop, Premiere, Bridge, and Lightroom), DSLR cameras, and video capture and editing. Applicants need to be able to teach continuous and strobe lighting within the studio and on location as well as maintain a professional lighting studio.
