The University of Arkansas is seeking an active studio artist and teacher in the field of Photography for a 3-year, non-tenure track position, with the possibility of renewal. Applicants should have a strong commitment to an expanded definition of photography, embracing contemporary and traditional photographic practices including black and white darkroom, digital photography, video, alternative processes, and large format photography. There is a strong emphasis on contemporary practice and conceptual training at the undergraduate and graduate level.
_Teach two classes per-semester
_Mentor graduate students and advanced photography students, participate in undergraduate and graduate critiques, and supervise graduate assistants
_Help with management of the photography facilities and equipment, budget and curriculum and other departmental service
_Maintain an active research record

_MFA degree in the field of Photography conferred by the start of employment
_Demonstrated professional achievement in the field of Photography
_Experience in most photographic techniques such as black and white darkroom, digital photography, large format, and alternative processes
_University teaching experience beyond graduate school
_Ability to teach all levels of photography
_Active exhibition record
_Broad knowledge of historic and contemporary aspects of photographic art and theory
_Demonstrated commitment to community outreach and student mentoring
_Experience with Video / Time-based media

_Portfolio consisting of 20 images of the applicant's personal creative work and 20 images of student work (Any digital video work should be submitted as QuickTime files and limited to 3 minutes) and each image should be a separate jpeg or tiff file, not together in a PDF file
