Ithaca College's Department of Media Arts, Sciences, and Studies is accepting applications for a full-time, non-tenure-eligible, Assistant Professor position in photography, to begin August 16, 2018. This renewable position is being offered in one of the strongest undergraduate communications programs in the country.

The chosen candidate will: serve as a committed, successful teacher of undergraduate students in a climate of engaged, active learning; possess a strong knowledge of current creative and/or conceptual conversations in the field; contribute to ongoing curricular development and program assessment. In addition to teaching; the candidate will serve as academic advisor to students, and participate in the ongoing work of department, school, and college committees.

Teaching responsibilities will focus primarily on our team-taught Introduction to Photography course, with periodic opportunities to teach mid- and upper-level courses consistent with the applicant's area of professional specialization. The candidate will be expected to achieve and sustain a high level of teaching effectiveness.

An M.F.A. is required in photography, visual studies, and/or related discipline. College level teaching experience will be given particular priority. The successful applicant will demonstrate expertise in digital and analog photography. A commitment to a liberal arts education within a professional program is expected.
