Viewpoint Photographic Art Center is now accepting proposals for solo and group exhibits in their Main Gallery and Step-Up Gallery for January through December, 2017. The deadline for submissions is midnight on Saturday, August 6th, 2016. Please see the Call for Proposals 2017 page on the VIewpoint web site for full details. Main Gallery Description
Eligibility: Proposals for Main Gallery exhibits are open to all interested artists working in the photographic arts. Submissions may be made for solo work or group shows; solo exhibits that are not large enough to fill the gallery space may be grouped with other artists at the discretion of the Curatorial Committee and with the permission of the artists.
Display Area: The Main Gallery has up to 80 linear feet of exhibit space on fixed walls and another 70 linear feet on movable partitions, with display space for 40-50 16x20 inch prints. There is also floor space for independent installations.
Fees: There is no fee for exhibiting in the Main Gallery.
Submissions
• All proposals must be made using EntryThingy online submissions, which may be found on the Viewpoint website at: viewpointgallery.org Click on the Call for Proposals 2017 content.
• Submissions must be in digital format, as described in the Image Specifications section in the Call. The Viewpoint Curatorial Committee will not accept slides, prints, or other formats during its initial review, but may request samples of such work during the selection process.
• Submissions should include a representative selection of 10-25 images from a finished, cohesive body of work, as well as the other information requested below.
• Viewpoint Gallery will accept up to two exhibit proposals by any artist; please differentiate by title.
Exhibits will be selected based on a wide range of criteria including subject matter, execution, style, range and cohesiveness of the proposed exhibit.
