Our national festivals are the foremost cross art form events for young artists in the UK. They provide an opportunity for artists and audiences to experience innovative and exceptional art and performance at the leading edge of contemporary creativity. Artists and the public can also take part in workshops, debates and symposia, and artists are encouraged to connect and collaborate across the festival and beyond.

UK Young Artists is seeking submissions for a three-day festival this November in Derby. The call is open to artists aged 18-30 working in the following art forms:

Applied Arts
Design
Digital Arts
Literature
Moving Image
Music
Performance
Visual Arts

Cross art form collaborations are also welcomed!

UK Young Artists’ open call for submissions closes at 5pm on Tuesday 31 May

Selected artists will be expected to attend the whole three day festival, arriving on Thursday 3 November and leaving on Sunday 6 November. Accommodation will be provided.

At each UKYA National Festival, up to 20 artists are selected to represent the UK at the International Biennale of Young Artists of Europe and the Mediterranean (BJCEM). UK Young Artists Ambassadors will attend the festival and from the work presented at the event, select a number of young artists to take part in this exciting international opportunity in 2017.
