The Fridge Show with Frances Jakubek

The idea behind this project is to celebrate fine art photography and connect photographers around the world. There will be a guest curator for every show and all the big decisions will be made over coffee and cake or wine and tapas, depending on the mood!

All you have to do is send your artwork or promos and you might end up on the fridge. The Fridge Shows will run on a bi-monthly basis.

Eligibility

- There is no theme. It’s an open call. Oh, and you don't have to be a professional photographer in order to submit.
- Previous participants are welcome to submit again. You can submit as many images as you want.

Requirements

- Submitted prints should not be bigger than 6x9”.
- The guest curators will try their best to fit as many images as possible. Space is limited though. After all, it’s just a fridge.
- Try to avoid type.
- If you send original artwork, please sign it on the back. All the original artwork (used and unused) will be saved after each Fridge Show. No artwork will be returned. There are already ideas for curating an actual show with all the artwork sent, where people could buy the prints, with all the money raised going for a good cause! By sending original artwork, you agree to all the above.

Awards

Frances Jakubek, Associate Director of the Griffin Museum oh Photography in Winchester, MA, will be the curator of the second Fridge Show that will be up in October!

20 photographs will be selected to be included on the Fridge Show. The curator will also consider awarding a mini-retrospective to one of the participants.
