Student & Non-Student Film Photography Awards

Kodak Professional Film for a new or continuing film-based project

Film Photo Award   /   Deadline: 03/31/19

The Film Photo Award offers two award cycles per year, each providing three distinct grants of Kodak Professional Film to photographers who demonstrate a serious commitment to the field and are motivated to continue the development of still, film-based photography in the 21st century.

The Film Photo Award is open to all emerging, established, and student photographers worldwide, 18 years old or older.

During each spring and fall grant cycle, 3 film awards will be granted: New Project Award, Continuing Project Award, and Student Project Award.

Fees

$35 Non-Students / $25 Students

Eligibility

Anyone 18 years old or older, worldwide.

Students must be currently enrolled in an institution of higher education at the time of submission. Undergraduate and graduate students are eligible. You do not need to be studying photography specifically.

Awards

New Project Award: applicants will select either 200 rolls of 35mm, 200 rolls of 120, or 300 sheets of 4x5 Kodak Professional film.

Continuing Project Award: applicants will select either 200 rolls of 35mm, 200 rolls of 120, or 300 sheets of 4x5 Kodak Professional film.

Student Project Award: applicants will select either 100 rolls of 35mm, 100 rolls of 120, or 150 sheets of 4x5 Kodak Professional film.

Evaluation Criteria

Applicants will be considered on the basis of artistic excellence and the promise of future achievement. Submissions include 10 examples of past work, a proposal for a new or continuing film-based project, CV or Bio, & Inventory List.
