STILL LIFE SHOW

Arte Ponte   /   Deadline: 02/12/17

About the exhibition
When looking at old Dutch and German still life masters, objects have always served to convey a meaning. Some objects have a universal meaning that has remained unchanged until today; while others have developed recently or have altered their symbolic message. These changes are very much dependent on the context, environmental and social influences and other objects around it.
This exhibition explores how a still life artwork - regardless of medium or genre - can tell a complex story. How objects are placed, the composition of the work, combined with the literal and metaphorical symbolic meanings enable an enriching experience for the viewer.
