Power and Politics

Filter Photo   /   Deadline: 07/25/16

Filter Photo is pleased to announce an open call for lens-based work for a juried exhibition, Power and Politics, juried by Barbara Tannenbaum, Curator of Photography, Cleveland Museum of Art.

In a presidential election year, a topic of immediate concern is who influences (or controls) the choices we make at the ballot box and how they sway voters. How does political power manifest itself visually and how much of its appearance is illusion, how much truth? When united, are power and politics dirty words, forces for good, or just the reality of life with a social structure?

For this open call, juror Barbara Tannenbaum is interested in photographic work that addresses the duality of power and politics and the various ways that can be expressed visually. Works need not depict political activity directly. Tannenbaum is open to all interpretations and will accept photography and video.
