PLAYA 2016 Spring Residency

PLAYA   /   Deadline: 09/01/15

PLAYA’s residencies are open to visual artists, writers, performance artists, scientists, naturalists, and individuals engaged in forms of creative research. PLAYA welcomes a range of applicants--from emerging artists of promise to professionals with an established history of accomplishment.

PLAYA is now accepting applications for our Spring residency session. For updated information and how to apply, go to www.playasummerlake.org and view the "Apply" page. Applications will be accepted online only via Submittable (playa.submittable.com/submit.

Our upcoming deadline is September 1, 2015 (for 2, 4, 6 or 8-week residencies for Spring 2016 sessions running January through June). For questions regarding these upcoming residencies or general information, please email playa@playasummerlake.org.

PLAYA, located in south central Oregon, is a retreat for creative individuals who are committed and passionate about their work and who will benefit from time spent in a remote location. PLAYA offers seclusion and quiet in a natural environment and the opportunity for interaction, if desired, with a cohort of residents and the local rural community. A residency provides the time and space to create substantive work or to research and reflect upon one’s creative or scientific processes. Away from the urgencies of daily life, residents can focus on their projects, immerse in a desert landscape of basin and rangeland, and find inspiration through self-directed inquiry.

There is a $35 application fee for individuals ($70 for collaborative teams) to cover administrative costs. For more information, visit www.playasummerlake.org.
