PERSONAL NARRATIVE

International Photography Exhibition

Midwest Center for Photography   /   Deadline: 05/01/20

Download in PDF Format

Expressing from a place of the personal and connecting on a personal level is what compels us to make powerful images. Photographs that encompass this exhibition will explore the notion of personal narrative through a set or series of photographs that are sequential in nature, collectively telling a story and expressing ideas. The photographic works that make up a narrative can be sequenced literally or metaphorically by subject matter, concept or aesthetics, creating a personal dialogue with the viewer. We are seeking intimate expressions of openly portrayed experiences, thoughts, and emotions concerning one's particular life. We each have a personal story and have moving experiences and sharing that narrative through a photo essay is a means to express who we are as unique individuals.
