The Art League of Long Island's 7th Annual Photography Exhibition

The news can leave us a bit down these days and the Art League wants you to lift our spirits! Don't we all need a good laugh? Recent studies show that indulging your sense of humor can help you live a longer, healthier life. Laughing not only eases stress, it promotes social bonding, and lowers blood pressure. Your camera lens may capture an image that promotes a smile, giggle or, perhaps, a belly laugh. Silly animals, goofy kids, a wild event, a good laugh will recharge your batteries!

Open to artists residing in New York, Connecticut or New Jersey, 18 years or older.

Images created via any form of photography will be accepted for consideration (i.e. shot on film, shot digitally, unaltered shots, alternative process, mixed media, digital manipulations, montages, photograms, etc.) as long as part of the image is photographically created and the photo was taken by the artist.

Eligibility

Open to artists residing in New York, Connecticut or New Jersey, 18 years or older.
• Entry is limited to 10 works not previously exhibited in the Art League's gallery.
• Images created via any form of photography will be
accepted for consideration (i.e. shot on film, shot digitally, unaltered shots, alternative process, mixed media, digital manipulations, montages, photograms, etc.) as long as part of the image is photographically created and the photo was taken by the artist.
• Identifying information, such as watermarks, embedded in the JPEG image will disqualify the entry.
• Entries judged not suitable or inappropriate will be
disqualified at the sole discretion of the Art League of Long Island.

Requirements

Two-dimensional work may not exceed 42" in any direction INCLUDING FRAME and 35 lbs. in weight.
• Three-dimensional work for display on pedestals may not exceed 15" wide by 15" deep by 30" high. ALLI will provide pedestals.
• All accepted work must be suitably prepared for gallery display. Two-dimensional work must be wired tightly within the top quarter of the frame. Stretched canvas, if unframed, must have clean staple-free edges. Black, white or off-white matting only, and no saw tooth hangers. ALLI will not accept work that is unstable, damaged, does not meet the specified conditions, or does not correspond to the submitted JPEG image.
• ALLI will supply labels to be affixed to accepted work, both the front and back, that includes the following: Artist Name, Title, Medium, Dimensions, and Price. This information must correspond with the accepted image as listed on the "Accepted Artwork" list. No artwork may be substituted.
• Accepted work must be hand delivered to the Art League on Tuesday, June 25, between 3pm and 8pm

Accepted art work must be delivered unwrapped to the Art League at 107 E. Deer Park Rd., Dix Hills, NY on Tuesday, June 25, between 3pm and 8pm.
• Out-of-town entries: The UPS Store at 1 Hewitt Square,
East Northport, NY 11731 (631-754-4400) will receive
your work, unpack it, deliver it to the Art League, and pick up at end of show. Call them for fee and size options.
• No Fed Ex deliveries accepted. ALLI has neither the staff or space to handle packing materials and repack.

Awards

Cash awards and one-year memberships will be given for Awards of Excellence and one year memberships will be awarded to Honorable Mentions. All awards will be given at the discretion of the judge
