HOMAGE

An International Call for Works Honoring Another Artist

Manifest Creative Research Gallery and Drawing Center   /   Deadline: 09/30/20

Download in PDF Format

The Cincinnati based non-profit arts organization and gallery, Manifest, invites visual artists to submit works that were created to honor another artist. Submissions can range from the most traditional to the most conceptual, abstract, or experimental of any media.

Whether it is intended as an homage to a deeply respected fellow artist, or simply a work representing a direct influence by the other's artwork, artists often pay a form of homage to their historical mentors in the things they make. We wonder how this shows up in artwork of today—how historical influences and bonds of aesthetic and intellectual lines of thought are integrated into creative production and expression. With this exhibit Manifest invites artists to share their works that represent such tributes to their inspirational predecessors, kindred spirits, and creative pathfinders.
