"But is it Local? Local Culture and World Heritage"
Foça Film Days / Deadline: 04/30/21
"But is it Local? Local Culture and World Heritage" is the theme of the 4th Foça International Archaeology and Cultural Heritage Documentary Film Days, which will take place between 20-26 October 2000 in Foça, Izmir, Turkey. During Foça Film Days, the Reha Midilli Cultural Centre will host an exhibition of documentary photography on the same theme. The exhibition will also be available for on-line viewing during Foça Film Days.
Through the theme, "But is it Local? Local Culture and World Heritage," Foça Film Days aims to introduce our audience to a rich variety of local cultural traditions from across the globe and at the same to question the very concept of "the local" in a world characterized by migration and cultural exchange. We are looking especially for images that present well-known cultural traditions from a new or unusual perspective; that examine the historical origins of local cultural traditions from around the world; and that investigate cross-cultural traditions.
