Flawed Beings

Light Leaked   /   Deadline: 11/04/18

Download in PDF Format

Light Leaked invites artists to submit to the exhibition and zine, Flawed Beings. We are seeking photographs that consider the process of being human and of creating art as a discovery of beautiful flaws that morph into our work and lives.

Making art that address our flaws is a way to heal ourselves, to find a way past them, or simply to communicate to others that we accept these imperfections as a natural part of ourselves. Art making lets us find a way to collectively connect with others that we own and revel in being flawed… in being human.

We are searching for photographs that the imperfections of the subject, camera, or technique are highlighted as an integral part of the image. Submissions illustrating the theme may be made figuratively or metaphorically. Any form of photographic image making is acceptable for this call.

This exhibition and zine is organized by the University of South Carolina (USC) Photography Thesis course with the mentorship of Ashley Kauschinger.
