Catalyst

New Orleans Photo Alliance   /   Deadline: 07/20/15

The New Orleans Photo Alliance invites photographers to submit images that celebrate, investigate, and/or explore the theme 'Catalyst" for a juried exhibition commemorating the 10th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina This exhibition will focus on themes of rebirth, rejuvenation, and transformation, celebrating the cultural vibrancy of post-Katrina New Orleans and the the idea that prolific creation can come from destruction. Emphasis on images that focus on positive change, growth, and resilience are encouraged. Any and all interpretations of 'Catalyst' will be reviewed for exhibition.

Submission Deadline: July 20th

Exhibition Dates: August 29th - November 15th

Public reception with the Juror: September 5th

Fees

$25 members / $35 non members

Eligibility

Submission Guidelines:

- Submit 1-5 jpegs
- You will have to create an account through EntryThingy in order to submit your entry (unless you already have one).
- All art submitted must be original work, created by the applicant.
- New Orleans Photo Alliance reserves the right to use selected images in web and print for exhibition related publicity purposes; NOPA will properly credit the photographers.
- Accepted works should be presented professionally, wired and ready to hang.

Requirements

Submission Requirements:

1. $25 application fee (for members) $35 fee for non members, to be directed through Paypal immediately after your application has been successfully uploaded.

2. Each image submitted should be in jpeg format. Name your files with your last name then first name and image title using an underscore to separate the names. Example: Doe_Jane_ImageTitle.jpg,

3. Each image ACCEPTED will also require a title, dimensions and print medium. Each image file and its accompanying information will be entered and uploaded one at a time.

Evaluation Criteria

About the Juror:

Alan F. Rothschild, Jr. is the Founder and President of The Do Good Fund, a 501(c)(3) public charity based in Columbus, Georgia. Since its founding in 2012, the Fund has focused on building a museum-quality collection of contemporary Southern photography, including works by emerging photographers. The Do Good Fund's mission is to make its collection broadly accessible through regional museums, nonprofit galleries and nontraditional venues, and to encourage complimentary, community-based programming to accompany each exhibition.
