Bird in Flight Prize '19: award for innovative approach to a photograph

Bird in Flight Prize is an international award for innovative approach to telling a story through a photograph, organized to support photographers who think outside the box of traditional artistic standards.

A member of Magnum Photos Antoine d'Agata (Paris), a member of the Unseen advisory committee Emilia van Lynden (Amsterdam), YET Magazine editor-in-chief Salvatore Vitale (Zurich), artist Ola Lanko (Amsterdam), photographers Dmitry Kostyukov (Paris), and Vlad Sokhin (Chiang Mai) are on the panel of the contest judges.

Location

Announcing of the winners and the award ceremony will take place in Kyiv, Ukraine.

Fees

15 euros

Eligibility

- Authors from all over the world are welcome to participate;
- The choice of theme is unrestricted.

Requirements

We only accept photoseries of 5-12 photographs. If needed, authors may choose to upload any other media file.

Awards

The main prize is 2000 euros.

Ten best projects will be published by Bird in Flight and displayed at the exhibition at the Set art space in Kyiv in October.

Special prize in the nomination of the Panasonic Readers' Choice Award is Panasonic Lumix GX9 camera.

Fifteen participants will receive a rare opportunity to get in-depth reviews of their work by the jury board members.

Considerations

In the special nomination of the Panasonic Readers' Choice Award the editors of Bird in Flight will define the shortlist of 30 photo series. The author of the best project will be chosen by open voting through the website of the competition. The prize is a Panasonic Lumix GX9 camera.

Evaluation Criteria

The judges evaluate the pieces according to the principles of their personal choosing.
