Eyedrum Art and Music Gallery / Deadline: 07/31/15
Behind the Static will take a deeper look at the origins and future of Glitch within the context of art making as a subversive activity. Has Glitch changed our relationships with error and beauty? What is the future of glitch?
Whether you are manipulating material to create and/or exploit Glitches, or capturing and documenting accidents, bugs in the system, or a ghost in the machine, Eyedrum Art and Music Gallery is seeking conceptual and aesthetic responses to Glitch.
Eyedrum is currently seeking a wide range of examples of Glitch Art to display in an upcoming exhibition. Consideration will be given to digital images and physical objects such as imperfect 3D printed objects, digital prints, drawings, paintings, sculpture, photo, textiles, installation, and interactive pieces based on the concept of Glitch. Digital only works will be displayed using projectors, monitors, and digital picture frames.
In addition to visual and sound pieces, Eyedrum is seeking proposals for demos, workshops, discussions, and performances associated with the concept of Glitch.
To submit, please send up to 5 numbered images and/or links, an image list numbered to correspond with images to include title, medium, and dimensions, a link to an artist website (if available), and current CV to glitch.eyedrum@gmail.com by Midnight EST, July 1, 2015.
Behind the Static opens October 24, 2015 at Eyedrum Art and Music Gallery, 88 Forsyth St SE, Atlanta, GA 30303 and will run through the end of 2015.
Dialogue and critique are important to the SPE mission.
