Harris Fogel: A 40 Year Retrospective

Harris Fogel: A 40 Year Retrospective

To celebrate our 5th anniversary at ArtsQuest Banana Factory and 7th year participating in InVision Photo Festival, Santa Bannon/Fine Art has curated and organized two highly relevant and unique exhibitions that are the must-see events during Lehigh Valley Photo Month.

In our upper gallery, "Harris Fogel: A 40 Year Retrospective": This exhibit traces the photographic projects of Curator and Photo Educator, Harris Fogel. At the age of 11 years old, Fogel began taking photographs, and built his first homemade enlarger using a family slide projector. His work ranges from classic black-and-white portraiture, documentary work, conceptually and text-driven work, employing formats from 35mm to 8x10-inch as well as contemporary digital imaging. This exhibition includes selections of work from a variety of projects including "The Wonder Years," "A Few American Cultures," "Toward Trinity," and "Hate." The images span Fogel's working period from 1977 to the present, and feature still life, landscape, and figurative work. Fogel is an associate professor of photography at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, where he is curator for the school's Sol Mednick Galllery and Gallery 1401.
