Trish Simonite was born in Norfolk, England and moved to Texas in the late 1960s. She received her B.F.A. and M.F.A. from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 1984 and 1987 respectively. Trish is an associate professor in the Department of Art & Art History at Trinity University in San Antonio where she teaches traditional and digital photography. Her photographs have been exhibited in group and solo shows in Europe and throughout the United States. Her subjects are primarily landscape and still life. Recent shows include "Honky Tonk" at the Bluecoat Gallery in Liverpool, England; The "Southern Open 2012" at The Acadiana Art Center, Lafayette, Louisiana; and "Living Here, Artists influenced by Asian Traditions," Gallery, Karma Triyana Dhamachacra Monastery, Woodstock, New York. Her work has been published in books and magazines including "An Introduction to the Art of Photography," 1st Edition, by Katie Stern, published by Delmar Cengage, 2011; "Art at Our Doorstep: San Antonio Writers and Artists," edited by Nan Cuba and Riley Robinson, Trinity University Press, 2008; and "A Creative Approach to Photography," by Harry Boyd, Heidelberg Publishers, Inc., 1974. Her work is in The Harry Ransom Humanities Research Center Photography Collection at the University of Texas in Austin, TX; the Linda Pace Collection in San Antonio, TX; the Bill and Alice Wright Photography Collection in Lubbock, TX; the Peter Palmquist Collection of Women Photographers, Beinecke Rare Book & Manuscript Library, Yale University, New Haven, CT; and other public and private collections both here and abroad.
