I tend to wander and get lost with my camera all over the world. My day job is serving as head of the Photography Program at Maryville University.
I am a history geek who loves the forgotten stories of those who have come before us. In particular I am interested in the lives of GLBTQ heroes who have been forgotten.
For my portfolio on here I have tried to share my growth as an artist as my students and peers can see my journey.
The first body of work I share is my early graduate work on the formal studies of muscular form.
The next body of work was created after I graduated and it was called Sweet Green Icing. This is series of still memories of clubbing in the 1990s.
The next body of work started as I explored the hidden histories of the GLBTQ identity. The work is based on the stories of the American Civil War Soldiers who were Cross or Trans Gender.
Most recently I have fallen in love with the poet Pier Paolo Pasolini and the aesthetics of Ancient and Fascist Rome. I am currently working on a new body of work that weaves a narrative of the gay male identity with the aesthetics of hyper-masculinity culture.
