about

Maryam Ladoni was born in 1982 in Iran. She received a MA degree in photography from University of Art in Iran. Currently she is studying MFA in photography at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in USA.
She started her work as a street photographer two years ago after leaving her occupation as a wedding photographer. As a kid of war, her work is a story of detachment and displacement; an expression between the real and the imagined, a view of feeling rootless. In her opinion, photography is like a journey toward the world of unknowns; a fascinating medium to express emotions by depicting and emphasizing the story of people, things, and places which are separated from their environment.
