These images were made during multiple stays in the Artibonite Valley region of Haiti, while I stayed at the Albert Schweitzer Hospital in Deschapelles. I focused on intimate moments of people's everyday lives and their use of color, art and architecture to express their creativity and spirituality. Photographs include images that are often hidden from the ordinary tourist or casual observer, including the interior spaces of vodou worship, inside the hospital, and scenes from village markets and around private homes.
