Lamia Khorshid is an Egyptian born artist, educated in the United States, currently residing in San Diego, California. She holds a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Miami, as well as a Bachelor of Architecture with a minor in Art.
Lamia is an active exhibiting artist working in photography and video. Her most recent two-person show was in San Diego, California in 2016, and an international solo show at Studio Art Centers International in Florence, Italy in 2013. She participated in several annual fairs and group exhibitions, including Art Palm Beach, MIA, Art Miami, Art Basel Miami Beach, Museum of Art Ft. Lauderdale, New Orleans Photography Alliance, Lowe Art Museum, Los Angeles Center for Digital Art, PhotoPlace Gallery, SPE San Francisco and New Orleans Conference, Miami Beach Cinematheque, the UM Project Space in Wynwood and the Miami Center for the Photographic Arts. She curated independent shows from 2006 – 2009. She lectured at the SPE Baltimore Conference in 2014, the Museum of Art Ft Lauderdale and the Lowe Art Museum in Coral Gables in 2013, the Hawaii International Conference on Arts & Humanities in 2012, Curator's Voice Art Projects and MIU in 2011, the Florida Consortium of Women's Studies Conference in Tampa and MOCA Goldman Warehouse in 2007.
She teaches Photography and Digital Imaging at MiraCosta College in San Diego, California, and previously taught at the University of Miami from 2007 – 2015. She continues to teach abroad at Studio Art Centers International in Florence, Italy during the summers.
