Jonathan Johnson is an artist and educator based in Columbus, Ohio who uses various forms of photography, film and video to explore ideas about place and nature. He has exhibited his films and photographic work in over 30 countries at venues such as the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia, Madrid; Modern Art Museum, Sao Paulo, Brazil; Wexner Center for the Arts, Columbus, Ohio; Galleria Sment, Braga, Portugal; Africa Centre, Cape Town, South Africa; Sofia Arsenal Museum of Contemporary Art, Sofia, Bulgaria; Keuruu Museum, Finland; Benaki Museum, Athens, Greece; Union Docs, Brooklyn and the EXiS Film Festival, Seoul, South Korea. In addition to working in academia, he has held positions in public affairs and in the music industry. Jonathan holds degrees from the University of Alaska, Minnesota State University and the University of Iowa. Currently, he is an Associate Professor of Photography and Digital Media at Otterbein University in Westerville, Ohio.
