about

John Harford is a fine arts photographer, writer and musician living in Bucks County, Pennsylvania.

His work explores surrealism, landscape, and elemental symbols. He delves into mythology, primitivism, history, and the social and psychological fringe through both still images and multimedia.

John's music and audio has spanned the territory of experimental and ambient audio environments and recordings to playing ancient northern European folk instruments.

He has taken his love of the ancient, nostalgic and esoteric and fused it with modern process to create mysterious moods and atmospheres.

John studied photography and digital media at Stockton University, New Jersey. He then continued his graduate coursework at Maryland Institute College of Art, Baltimore. At MICA he delved into the worlds of critical theory, media, installation and sound art.

He is currently a professor and the coordinator of Visual Communication at Raritan Valley College. There he specializes in teaching traditional design and imaging as well as motion graphics, media and audio production. John has also taught at Stockton University, Bloomfield College and Maryland Institute College of Art. He has also acted as a private workshop instructor and consultant.

Additionally John works as the creative director and a writer/content designer at Golden Dragon Game Studios based in Sleepy Hollow, New York. His primary role is the development of game world settings, narratives and character backgrounds.
