I am a fine art photographer who specializes in merging new technologies with historic photographic processes. My images begin by blending several photographs together using High Dynamic Range (HDR) image processing software to increase the tonality and color range of my work.
Although I use the newest digital technology to create my images they emulate the forms of many antique 20th century processes including lantern slides, hand colored photographs, cyanotypes, and Gum Bichromate prints. A unique quality of my photography is that many of my images are illuminated in hand constructed light boxes or in layered glass image transfers called Stratachromes.
My blended style of photography has been accepted for exhibition both locally and nationally. In addition to my fine art photography I have worked as a professional photographer and photojournalist for over 20 years. After earning my MFA in 2013 I am now teaching as an adjunct instructor at Blue Ridge Community College in addition to my fine art photography.
