Conjuring Prophecy

Conjuring Prophecy seeks to disseminate contemporary themes of the glory/doom concept created by the impending rapture. The images of Conjuring Prophecy illustrate ideals of contemporary Christian practices and myth derived from the Bible. Current events, specific conservative ideals, biblical symbolism and my own experiences are exploited in this work in an effort to bridge the narrowing gap between secular and non-secular existences. To conjure the prophecy of earthly eradication is to expedite the end of the world. I am fascinated by particular subcultures who not only welcome the end of days, but also deliberately participate in actions that are counterproductive and bizarre. Specifically, there is a conservative religious movement that promotes anti-recylcing. Their goal is to hasten global warming in order to conjure the end of days.
