Contemporary urban environments provide rich ground for visual irony. Whether in distant exotic sites or in familiar locations closer to home, mundane aspects of commercial marketing strategies can sometimes provide disquieting results, visual ambiguities or distorted satire. The three part "Purchasing Power" was photographed in Seattle, Washington while the diptych "Bucharest, Romania" is from a series of images produced while in residence in Bucharest.
