RePublic Restrooms

Culture is based on a loose agreement upon abstract ideas, and in the United States two of these ideas are Freedom and Equality, through the promotion of Reason. To promote these ideas, we need not be caught up in others peoples detritus, and nothing frees an individual more than maintaining a healthy environment for people and nature. The foundation to this is the public restroom and infrastructure surrounding it that allows a civilized society to function. This portfolio is a celebration of that infrastructure and an exploration on how the camera visually abstracts our world and abstracts the ideas surrounding us.
