Deb Leal is a Multidisciplinary Artist whose investigations aim to jar moments that feel in limbo, solitary and ritualistic— A recollection of lessons learned (a pathway molded by unique expectations, familial or otherwise) glow & dim in a volley of human belief, desire, and control thereof. Understanding shame to be a tactic of such, Leal taps into private moments that feel carnally playful or discordant. She received her BFA in Photography from the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design, who has included her work in its permanent collection. Leal's work has been exhibited in venues & conferences including: the deYoung Art Museum (San Francisco, 2020), LULAC National (Milwaukee, 2019), and VAR Gallery (Milwaukee, 2019), as well as archived in publications like "Book & Job Gallery: Find Rangers Magazine vol. 23" (San Francisco, 2020) and "Vad händer nu (What Happens Now): A Feminist Anthology" (Malmö, Sweden, 2018).
