Becoming Mother

Becoming. Do we ever stop becoming? After I became a mother, I realized that everyday I am constantly becoming over and over. Each new day brings new challenges with motherhood and I feel myself becoming something new for my children, while all the same trying to hold on to a slice of who I was before I birthed them into my world. The constant becoming is tiresome, challenging, and all the while worth it. A playmate, a doctor, a teacher, a maid, a cook, and with every step, most importantly, a mother. These images are shot with the protective eye of a mother and provide a stillness to the everyday chaotic moments that are my life.
