Retracing the roots of our past we are often lead down country roads or left standing in front of buildings long forgotten. These places were once the centerpiece of the community; old stores, farms, mills, bridges, and homes. The nostalgia of standing on an old porch or seeing the last remains of a mill now crumbling under vines presents a mysterious longing for the past and a curiosity about the stories behind such remnants. Instead of forgetting and passing by these places that shaped rural Southern towns, I use the camera to capture the last relics of the cornerstones of the past before they are forgotten.
